OPTICAL DISK DEVICE AND ITS INFORMATION RECORDING/REPRODUCING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device capable of protecting confidential information recorded in an optical disk by disabling a device other than the optical disk device recording the information to identify the optical disk itself, and its recording/reproducing method. SOLUTION: The optical disk device is provided with a recording/reproducing means for recording or reproducing information in an optical disk, and an input means for receiving an instruction of permitting reproducing of information recorded by the device only in the device from a computer. When the instruction is received during a recording operation, first unique information indicating the type of an optical disk from a unique information area in the optical disk defined according to a standard is read to be saved, identification of a predetermined area is disabled by using the recording/reproducing means, and the saved first unique information and second unique information indicating the device are recorded in a predetermined area of the optical disk different from the unique information area.
