Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biometric authentication device capable of being made small in size, thin in thickness and low in cost even if it is a multi-modal type by making it possible to acquire the image of the face and the image of the vein of a biological site by a common imaging part, and to provide an authentication method using the biometric authentication device. SOLUTION: In this biometric authentication device, the image information of both a far object and a near object can be obtained by an imaging part 1 composed of an imaging element 5 and an imaging lens 6a fixed to the imaging element 5, and a personal authentication identification can be performed based on the image information.
