HUMIDIFIER AND AIR CONDITIONER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose a small, inexpensive humidifier capable of supplying preheated make-up water to a humidifying water tank without using a separate water tank. SOLUTION: The humidifier 11 of an air conditioner 1 has a single open-type water tank 19. The inside of the water tank 19 is laterally partitioned by a vertical partition plate 22 to form a first compartment 23 functioning as a make-up water tank 23A, and a second compartment 24 functioning as the humidifying water tank 24A. The first compartment 23 is supplied with make-up water from the outside, and the make-up water is heated therein by an electric heater 25a. When the water level of humidifying water in the second compartment 24 is below a set water level, make-up water is supplied to the first compartment 23 from the outside, and the make-up water preheated in the first compartment 23 overflows the vertical partition plate 22 and is supplied to the adjoining second compartment 24.
