Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an epoxy resin and a composition, which are excellent in workability, thermal characteristics, and mechanical characteristics; and to provide hardened matters thereof. SOLUTION: The epoxy resin composition comprises an epoxy resin presented in the following general formula (1): G-M1-P-M2-G, wherein G represents a glycidyl group, M1and M2represent identical or different mesogenic groups represented by general formula (2), and P represents a linear organic group with a silicon content of not less than 5% by weight; and comprises 0.001 to 200 parts by weight of a curing agent blended into 100 parts by weight of the epoxy resin.
