SPLICING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a splicing device having compact construction for actualizing extremely smooth connection between a downward-delivery old web paper roller and an upward-delivery new web paper roll or between an upward-delivery old web paper roll and a downward-delivery new web paper roll. SOLUTION: The splicing device comprises a turret 2 for turning the new web paper roll R2 from a standby position 10 to a supply position 9 when the old web paper roll R1 at the supply position 9 gets to a predetermined remaining amount, a web paper guide part 18 for guiding web paper P to be delivered, and a pair of splicing arms 3, 4 for rocking toward the new web paper roll R2 at the supply position 9. The turret 2 has a guide roller 8a is provided for guiding old web paper P1 to be delivered from the standby position 10 while spacing it from the new web paper roll R2 at the supply position 10. The web paper guide part 18 has a pair of interference preventing rollers 20, 21 for guiding the web paper P to a position spaced from the base end of each of the splicing arms 3, 4 to prevent the interference between the web paper P and the base end of each of the splicing arms 3, 4.
