COMMUNICATION SYSTEM, BASE STATION, AND COMMUNICATION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To acquire safety information for an owner of a portable device terminal in a disaster area by automatically transmitting a mail for safety confirmation to the portable device terminal in the disaster area. SOLUTION: In a communication system for executing communication with portable device terminals through radio, the communication system has a plurality of base stations taking charge of respective communication service areas, the portable device terminal in the communication service area, a server for transmitting the mail for safety confirmation in order to confirm safety of the owner of the portable device terminal to the portable device terminal in the communication service area where the outbreak of a disaster is detected, and a safety information database for register safety information included in the return mail returned from the portable device terminal.
