Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a surgical eyeless needle, boring a hole having a hole diameter exceeding 1/2 of the diameter of the needle even in a thin needle having a diameter of less than 160 μm. SOLUTION: In the method of manufacturing a surgical eyeless needle for boring a hole on an end surface of a stainless steel-made surgical eyeless needle and inserting and fixing by caulking one end of a suture to the hole, first electrolytic polishing is performed after boring a hole for inserting the suture to an end surface 20a of a needle material 20 larger in thickness than the eyeless needle to reduce the thickness of the needle material. The needle material reduced in thickness is shaped into an intermediate product 22 having a needle shape, second electrolytic polishing is performed thereto to form a needle 23. Since the polishing quantity can be increased by performing the electrolytic polishing in two batches, the hole diameter of the needle can be increased to a size of 1/2 or more of the needle diameter.
