OPTICAL FIBER CABLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber cable which can maintain it protection against Cryptotympana facialis without adverse effects on its characteristics even when using a protection tape having a curved cross-section. SOLUTION: The optical fiber cable has an optical fiber core ribbon 2 formed by arranging a plurality of optical fibers 1 flat and parallel and integrally covered, a sheath 3 applied to the optical fiber core ribbon 2, a pair of tension members 6, 6 arranged in parallel at both sides of the optical fiber core ribbon 2 inside the sheath 3, and a pair of protection tapes 5, 5 arranged in parallel at both sides of the optical fiber core ribbon 2 inside the sheath 3. The protection tape 5 is curved in cross-section and arranged with its curve center at the side opposite to the optical fiber core ribbon 2. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
