SOLUTION: The method for brightening teeth is characterized by alternately treating the teeth with a composition comprising an organic acid and/or an inorganic acid and fluorine ion-feeding compound(s) and a composition containing peroxide(s). In this method, the organic acid and/or the inorganic acid is(are) one or more acids selected from acetic acid, lactic acid, malic acid, tartaric acid, citric acid, glycolic acid, succinic acid and phosphoric acid, the peroxide(s) is(are) hydrogen peroxide and/or urea peroxide, and the fluorine ion-feeding compound(s) is(are) one or more compounds selected from sodium fluoride, sodium monofluorophosphate, tin fluoride, lithium fluoride and ammonium fluoride.
