TILT TYPE STEERING UNIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily perform precise angle setting of a column shaft corresponding to a working state of an operator in a steering unit equipped with a tilt function. SOLUTION: The tilt type steering unit 1A is equipped with a base part 14 fixed to an operating room floor surface X of a working vehicle. A base end side of the column shaft 10 is supported by the base part 14 with the tip end side rotatable in the forward and rearward direction. A lock cylinder 12a is suspended between the base part 14 and an intermediate part of the column shaft 10. The steering unit 1A is equipped with a lock mechanism 12 for fixing an erection angle of the column shaft 10. When the operator depresses an operation lever 12b of the lock mechanism 12, the lock is released and the tip end of the column shaft 10 becomes rotatable while being biased in the erected direction. By returning the depression of the lever 12b, the column shaft 10 becomes locked. The operating lever 12b is attached to the base part 14 side, and a pedal 122 is at a height from the floor surface X for allowing operation by the foot of the operator from below the ankle while keeping the heel on the floor.
