Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recording medium which is excellent in ink absorbency, can effectively prevent printing bleeding from developing and has excellent surface gloss. SOLUTION: This inkjet recording medium is formed by providing an ink accepting layer and a glossy layer provided on the ink accepting layer on a base material. The glossy layer includes a pigment containing an organo-inorganic lamellar compound intercalated with at least one kind of ammonium ions selected from the group consisting of R1NH3+, R2R3NH2+and R4(CH3)3N+and R5R6(CH3)2N+(wherein R1represents an 8-20C saturated hydrocarbon, R2and R3respectively represent a 6-12C saturated hydrocarbon, R4represents an 8-20C saturated hydrocarbon and R5and R6respectively represent an 8-20C saturated hydrocarbon), between the lamellae of the inorganic lamellar compound and a binder.
