MELTING DEVICE FOR INCINERATION ASH

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a melting device for incineration ash, which minimizes the concentration of hexavalent chromium in a slag by melting the incineration ash, while reducing the harmful hexavalent chromium produced by oxidation of chromium to harmless trivalent chromium and keeping trivalent chromium form, and surely prevents elution of hexavalent chromium, in melting the incineration ash of waste including heavy metal, in particular, chromium easily at low running costs without placing environmental load through in a furnace atmosphere. SOLUTION: This melting device Fm1of the incineration ash is constituted: to supply to a melting furnace 5, incineration ash after adjusting a base concentration of the incineration ash to 0.6-1.0 by adding a base concentration adjustment agent to one of the waste Km, an incinerator 3 for incinerating the waste Km, or the incineration ash; to heat and melt the incineration ash supplied into the melting furnace 5 after performing the adjustment of base concentration, at a temperature of 1350°C or more, and; to rapidly cool the molten slag of the molten incineration ash by allowing it to flow down into a water-cooling device 6.
