Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve fuel economy even under an operation condition where combustion improvement effect due to tumble flow in a combustion chamber of the engine is not much. SOLUTION: An upper passage 21 and a lower passage 22 is partitioned and formed in an intake passage of each cylinder of the engine 11, and a tumble control valve 23 opening and closing the upper passage 21 and an intake pressure control valve 24 opening and closing the lower passage 22 are provided. The tumble control valve 23 of each cylinder is closed to form tumble flow in the combustion chamber under a predetermined operation condition. The intake pressure control valve 24 is opened after intake stroke of each cylinder by closing the intake pressure control valve 24 near a start position of intake stroke of each cylinder under the operation condition where combustion improvement effect due to tumble flow is not much. Consequently, downstream side intake pressure of the intake pressure control valve 24 gets higher than that of a system not provided with the intake pressure control valve 24 in intake stroke of each cylinder. Cylinder pressure during intake stroke is made higher (reduce negative pressure) and pumping loss is reduced. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
