Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the strength of a tumble flow generated inside a combustion chamber of an engine. SOLUTION: An upper passage 21 and a lower passage 22 are partitioned and formed on an intake passage of each cylinder of the engine 11. A tumble control valve 23 for opening/closing the upper passage 21 and an intake pressure control valve 24 for opening/closing the lower passage 22 are provided. In a predetermined operating condition, flow speed of intake air flowing on the lower passage 22 is increased by closing the tumble control valve 23 of each cylinder, so as to generate a tumble flow inside the combustion chamber. At this time, by opening the intake pressure control valve 24 in the vicinity of start of an intake stroke of each cylinder and closing the intake pressure control valve 24 in the vicinity of end of the intake stroke of each cylinder, downstream side intake pressure of the intake pressure control valve 24 becomes lower than upstream side intake pressure in the vicinity of start of the intake stroke of each cylinder, so as to increase a pressure difference between the upstream side intake pressure and downstream side intake pressure in the intake stroke. Thus, the flow speed of the intake air flowing on the lower passage 22 is increased and the strength of the tumble flow inside the combustion chamber is increased. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
