Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To economically efficiently use a solid polymer electrolyte membrane and to secure high power generation performance. SOLUTION: The fuel cell 10 is equipped with an electrolyte membrane-electrode assembly 12, and first and second separators 14, 16 holding the electrolyte membrane-electrode assembly 12 therebetween. The electrolyte membrane-electrode assembly 12 is equipped with the solid polymer electrolyte membrane 18, an anode 20 and a cathode 22 holding the solid polymer electrolyte membrane 18 therebetween, and a frame-like member 23 surrounding the solid polymer electrolyte membrane 18.
