ELECTRONIC DEVICE AND ITS CONTROL METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent malfunction of a microcomputer in an electronic device having an FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) and a microcomputer that terminates initialization earlier than the completion of configuration of the FPGA. SOLUTION: In the electronic device having a function part for performing configuration to write circuit data after being powered and started and a first microcomputer that is started at about the same time as the function part, performs initialization after being started and starts communication with the function part after the initialization is complete, the first microcomputer is reset after the first microcomputer is started, and after the configuration is complete at the function part, the resetting is canceled to cause the microcomputer to start the initialization. Thus, since termination of the initialization of the microcomputer can be put off until the configuration of the function part is complete, the communication from the microcomputer to the function part before completion of the configuration can be prevented.
