SEAT BELT DEVICE FOR VEHICLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seat belt device for a vehicle capable of performing the failure diagnosis under various kinds of conditions. SOLUTION: In the seat belt device 1, a belt reel 12 with a webbing 5 being wound therearound is connected to a motor 10 via a power transmission mechanism 13, and the tension is given to the webbing 5 by the drive of the motor 10. The seat belt device comprises a rotation sensor 14 for detecting the rotation of the belt reel 12, a pulse detection means 23 for detecting the input of the pulse from the rotation sensor 14, a current detection means 22 for detecting the power generation current or the conduction current of the motor 10, and a sensor abnormality determination means 24 for determining that the rotation sensor 14 is failed when any pulse is not input during a predetermined time after the current detection means 22 detects the current of the motor 10.
