Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling adapter for a shrink fitting type tool holder with a great cooling speed and high cooling efficiency by directly passing a cooling fluid (a coolant) around a chuck part. SOLUTION: In an inner circumference face of a main body part, in a state of inserting the chuck part of the shrink fitting type tool holder and contacting an outer circumference face of the chuck part to the inner circumference face, an inner side passage is provided such that the cooling fluid contacting the outer circumference face of the chuck part and the inner circumference face of the main body part can be passed between the outer circumference of the chuck part and the inner circumference. By passing the cooling fluid through the inner side passage, the outer circumference face of the chuck part is directly cooled by the cooling fluid, and at the same time, the inner circumference face of the main body part is cooled from the inner side.
