CLEANING MATERIAL AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning material which is manufactured at a low manufacturing cost by using waste casting sand as the raw material while dispensing with a firing process and exhibits excellent cleaning action for air or water, and to provide a manufacturing method of the cleaning material. SOLUTION: The waste casting sand is classified such that the particle size falls into the range of 0.15 to 5 mm without being fired, is washed to remove irons by a wet magnetic separator. Further, the waste casting sand is sorted into washed sand having a particle size of 0.15 mm or more and washed soil having a particle size less than 0.15 mm by using a vibrating sorter. The cleaning material is obtained by screening the sand of which the ζ-potential in the range of pH 4 to pH 10 is -10 mV or less from among the washed sand thus obtained. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
