ELECTRIC HEATING TYPE SNOW MELTING MAT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a snow melting mat having sufficient snow melting effect even in a heavy snow falling condition. SOLUTION: In this method for manufacturing the water permeable rubber mat, rubber like a chip having diameter of 2-5 mm and binder are mixed at wt.% of 1 to 0.08-0.20, the mixture is spread over in a mold, its shape is properly arranged by using a heated trowel, and a heat roller of 60-80°C is applied on it with a weight of 15 kg or more to make it hard. The mat includes clearances allowing water to permeate by 15-40% of the whole mat. In addition, the rubber mat incorporated with an electric heater together with polyethylene nets for reinforcement in a sandwich is formed. The snow melted by the electric heater becomes warm water and leaks to the outside through the clearances. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
