METHOD FOR PRODUCING HOLLOW RESIN PARTICLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing hollow resin particles, by which the hollow resin particles having a true specific gravity of about 0.6 or less can be produced in a good yield without using a nitrile-based monomer as a resin constituting shells. SOLUTION: This method for producing the hollow resin particles using a resin (A) as shells is characterized by suspending a solution (E) prepared by dissolving the precursor (A1) of a resin (A) and a phase separation-promoting agent (C) in a volatile solvent (B), in a solvent (D) not dissolving the precursor (A1), the resin (A) and the volatile solvent (B) and having a higher boiling point than that of the volatile solvent (B), subjecting the suspension to a polymerization under pressure to synthesize the resin (A), and depressurizing at a temperature at or above the boiling point of the volatile solvent (B).
