Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suspension system for a vehicle with high practical use. SOLUTION: In this system, a suspension spring, a fluid pressure absorber for generating an absorbing force as the resistance force of a spring upper part and a spring lower part against an approaching-separating operations in the vertical direction having a magnitude according to the operating speeds, and an approaching/separating force generating device for controllably generating the approaching/separating force are disposed parallel to each other. In the control for damping the vibration of at least one of the spring upper part and the spring lower part by making the absorber in association with the approaching/separating force generating device, an approaching/separating force equivalent to the difference between the damping force FH(S8) required for damping the vibration and the absorber force FA(S7) is generated (S9-S12).
