METHOD AND DEVICE FOR CONTROLLING INTERSTAND TENSION OF CONTINUOUS ROLLING MILL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for controlling interstand tension of a continuous rolling mill by which tension estimation is highly accurately performed and the accuracy of tension control is improved. SOLUTION: When controlling the tension of a material to be rolled to the target value between respective stands of the continuous rolling mill, by relating the relationship of the rolling torque of each stand, rolling load, forward tension and back tension by linear formulas, allying the linear formulas at a plurality of stands and solving the formulas by the matrix recurrence type least squares method by giving the measured values of the rolling torque and the rolling load, the forward tension and the back tension are continuously estimated and the estimated tensions are taken as the target values.
