MOTION IMAGE DECODING DEVICE AND PORTABLE TELEVISION RECEPTION SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motion image decoding device capable of performing fast prevention byte removal processing needed for decoding processing of MPEG4-AVC while securing consistency with section decision making of a NAL by using general relatively inexpensive hardware performing byte data removal and rearrangement. SOLUTION: The motion image decoding device includes a byte sequence removing unit 2 which detects a byte sequence of a specified pattern from an input stream ST, removes part or the whole of it from the stream, and then stores the resulting stream in a motion image stream buffer 6, a pilot information generator 3 which generates pilot information D1 capable of specifying the pilot sequence removal position in the stream, a pilot information analyzer 5 which inputs the stream having the specified pattern byte sequence removed from the motion image stream buffer 6 and the pilot information generated by the pilot information generator 3, and specifies the pilot sequence removal position, and a motion image decoder 4 which performs moving image decoding processing from the stream having the specified pattern byte sequence removed while taking into consideration the byte sequence removal position specified by the pilot information analyzer 5.
