Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarizing plate that is not easily distorted, even for use under the heat and humidity conditions, and to provide a liquid crystal display. SOLUTION: The polarizing plate comprises a polarizer having two back-to-back surfaces, and a single protective film layer. The polarizer consists of resin film in which dichroic pigment molecules are adsorbed, in a state where they are oriented uniaxially, and the protective film layer is disposed on one surface of the polarizer; and the polarizing plate, further has an inorganic fine particle layer that contains inorganic fine particles on at least one surface of the polarizer.
