Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method and system capable of removing or alleviating at least one of defects in an existing system. SOLUTION: An FoIP server intermediates fax communication between a gateway and a backend system in an enterprise. The gateway can be operated in a VoIP mode, can be connected to PSTN and an enterprise network, and intermediates between a PSTN FAX call and a FAX call on IP. The FoIP server intermediates between the FoIP call and the backend system in the enterprise such as a message transfer agent (MTA), customer relation management (CRM), document management, web service, and a specialized application requiring a main frame or a FAX capability.
