IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve high image quality by adjusting a latent image potential difference between a vertical line and a horizontal line generated due to unevenness of a photoreceptor, unevenness of a beam spot diameter, and change of a photoreceptor linear speed. SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus has a potential sensor 20 as a potential measurement means for measuring a latent image potential of an image carrier. A control means 2 detects (calculates) a ratio of the latent image potential in image-forming a one-dot vertical line and the latent image potential in image-forming a one dot horizontal line based on measured value from a potential sensor 20, and modifies an exposure condition by an exposure device 1171A according to the ratio of the detected latent image potential.
