Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a glass fine particle deposited body while suppressing the variation of an added amount of a dopant along the longitudinal direction. SOLUTION: In a method of manufacturing the glass fine particle deposited body, while a starting rod 13 is rotated around its shaft, glass fine particles produced by a burner 21 for a core and a burner 22 for a clad are deposited in the axis direction of the starting rod 13, and after the outer diameter of the glass fine particle deposited body 14 becomes a target outer diameter, a flow of a hydrogen gas to supply to burners 21, 22 is adjusted so that a relative rate of movement between the starting rod 13 and the burners 21, 22 agrees with a target rate of movement.
