OPTICAL PICKUP UNIT AND OPTICAL PICKUP MECHANISM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup unit easily adjusting load torque applied from a rack spring to a lead screw. SOLUTION: The optical pickup unit 1 is provided with a stepping motor disposed on a base frame, a lead screw 2 disposed in parallel with the moving direction of an optical pickup 10 and rotated by the stepping motor 2, guide rods 3 and 4 disposed on the base frame in parallel with the lead screw 2 to guide a pickup base 12 in its moving direction, a rack 51 fixed to the pickup base 12 via a fixing means 7 on its one end side and engaged with the groove of the lead screw 2 on the other end side, a rack spring 5 for moving the pickup base 12 in its moving direction by rotation of the lead screw 2, and a rack spring height adjusting means (fan-like projection) 8 disposed on the upper surface of the pickup base 12 to adjust the height of the rack spring 5.
