Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal-refining method that can prevent a metal which has been crystallized at a high solidification rate from exfoliating from the coolant after the metal has grown in some measure, and can improve the refining efficiency, and to provide an apparatus therefor. SOLUTION: In a process for refining the metal by the steps of dipping a coolant 3 in a molten metal 2 to be refined and crystallizing a high-purity metal on the surface of the coolant while rotating the coolant 3, the metal-refining method includes setting the maximum peripheral-speed of the coolant 3 in an early stage of the refining process larger than the average peripheral-speed in the later stage.
