ELECTRIC STEERING LOCK DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain manufacturing costs from increasing, and surely secure safety. SOLUTION: This device comprises a lock member 19 movable between a locked position and an unlocked position, an actuator 26 driving the lock member 19, a locked position detecting switch 31 detecting the locked position of the lock member 19, an unlocked position detecting switch 32 detecting the unlocked position of the lock member 19, a control part (microcomputer 36) judging the position of the lock member 19 based on signals inputted from the switches 31, 32 and actuating the lock member 19 according to the signals from external equipment (vehicle microcomputer 40), and a rewritable non-volatile storage means (EEPROM 37), by which the control part stores driving flags when an unlocking actuation or a locking actuation is executed by the actuator 26.
