ADAPTIVE ARRAY ANTENNA SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adaptive array antenna system which suppresses an interference component contained in a reception signal and is advantageous for a compact radio unit. SOLUTION: The adaptive array antenna system includes at least first and second antenna systems forming a diversity branch and a combination means for combining output signals from the at least first and second antenna systems. Each of the first and second antenna systems includes an array antenna means including a plurality of antenna elements, an analog/digital conversion means defining an analog reception signal after weighting combination as an input signal, and an adaptive array antenna control device for adaptively controlling a weight coefficient for the plurality of antenna elements. The adaptive array antenna control device extracts a signal component for each of a plurality of sub-carriers contained in the analog reception signal by performing Fourier transform on a digital signal and adjusts the weight coefficient so as to suppress a signal component for predetermined sub-carriers in the plurality of sub-carriers.
