PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an objective lens diver for an optical pickup which has a compacter configuration and in which sufficient higher order resonance performance can be obtained. SOLUTION: A holder for holding an objective lens includes a mounting surface 5d for mounting the objective lens, and a plurality of side walls 5e, 5f, 5g, 5h, joined so as to enclose the mounting surface 5d and the ends of the adjacent side walls 5e, 5f, 5g, 5h are joined to each other in the ends. The inner surfaces of the adjacent side walls 5e, 5f, 5g, 5h are connected to each other by reinforcing walls 5l, 5k, 5m, 5n and therefore, the rigidity of the holder can be assured and the sufficient higher order resonance performance can be obtained.
