Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a tension of a tether without being contacted with a stripe such as the tether. SOLUTION: A tension detecting device comprises a wide laser sensor (22) including a wide laser irradiation part (22a) for irradiating a wide laser (23) having a predetermined width to a tether (T) connected to a space structure (1) and a laser receiving part (22b) oppositely arranged to face to the wide laser irradiation part (22a), a frequency detecting means (C1B) for detecting a regular frequency (f) of regular vibration of the tether (T) in response to a variation of position of the tether (T) using the wide laser sensor (22), and a tension calculation means (C1C) for calculating a tension of the tether (T) in reference to the regular frequency (f).
