Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst for cleaning exhaust gas, in which the amount of hydrogen sulfide to be discharged can be reduced without using nickel. SOLUTION: The catalyst 1 for cleaning exhaust gas comprises: a carrier base material 2; a catalyst deposition layer 3 having a lower layer 3a which is supported on the carrier base material 2 and contains a heat-resistant carrier 31a and an upper layer 3b with which the lower layer 3a is covered and which contains another heat-resistant carrier 31b and an oxygen storage material 32b which is not incorporated in the lower layer 3a; platinum 4a deposited only in the lower layer 3a; and rhodium 4b deposited in the upper layer 3b.
