ATTENTIVENESS MONITORING APPARATUS FOR VEHICLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an attentiveness monitoring apparatus for a vehicle, which accurately monitors the attentiveness while appropriately responding to the variation of the attentiveness of a driver. SOLUTION: An operation state quantity detecting section 10 repeatedly detects the operation state quantity with a predetermined detection timing. An integrating section 11 weights at least the operation state quantity from a first detection timing as the earliest to a second detection timing after a predetermined period after the first detection timing in a first detection period so that weighting is smaller for older operation state quantity, among a plurality of operation state quantities every first detection period updated and set in a predetermined time interval, and integrates the operation state quantity every first detection period to determine an operation state quantity integrated value. An average value arithmetic section 12 determines the average value of the operation state quantity every first detection period, based on the operation state quantity integrated value. Based on the average value, an attentiveness arithmetic section 13 calculates an attentiveness index showing the degree of attentiveness.
