Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal panel which is excellent in a balance between contrast and viewing angle characteristics. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal panel has; a first polarizer; a first optical compensation layer including a resin of which the absolute value of the photoelastic coefficient is 2×10-11m2/N or less and satisfying an inequality nx>ny=nz; a second optical compensation layer satisfying an inequality nx=ny>nz; a liquid crystal cell; a third optical compensation layer including a resin of which the absolute value of the photoelastic coefficient is 2×10-11m2/N or less and satisfying an inequality nx>ny=nz; and a second polarizer in this order toward the viewer's side, wherein a sum total ΣRth1 to nof retardation values in the thickness direction of all the optical compensation layers and a retardation value Rthc in the thickness direction of the liquid crystal cell satisfy an inequality -50 nm
