Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine controller of construction machinery by which a sharp increase in engine speed upon engine start-up is restrained. SOLUTION: A hydraulic excavator has an engine 7, a hydraulic pump 8, and a front working-device 3. An engine-control dial 15 in the excavator for indicating a speed of the engine 7, and a vehicle body controller 16 which calculates a target engine-speed on the basis of an engine-speed indicated by the engine control dial 15 are provided. The vehicle body controller 16 is provided with an engine speed regulator, e.g. an integrating low pass filter 19, by which the engine speed at starting of the engine 7 is gradually increased in a specified delay time of e.g. in several to ten-odd seconds, and after elapse of the specified delay time, the engine speed is regulated so that the target engine speed corresponding to the speed indicated by the engine control dial 15 is attained.
