Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a long-lasting die which has a surface coating film and has improved thermal crack resistance and oxidation resistance. SOLUTION: The die or a mold has the surface coating film, which has a thickness of 0.3-50 μm and an average value of the compressive residual stress of 0.5-8 GPa and is formed by alternately depositing thin layers of titanium chromium nitride and aluminum nitride for at least 10 times on the surface of a die base material or a mold base material made of a sintered hard alloy, ceramic, steel or cast iron.
