Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a monoazo lake pigment, which completes a lake-making process within a fixed time and slightly causes drainage discoloration in a purification process in the production of a pigment, has an excellent flushing property and slidably causes drainage discoloration in the production of ink and to obtain a coloring composition suitable as a printing ink having a small water-soluble component, an excellent transparency, clarity, tinting strength, gloss, bronze and printability. SOLUTION: The method for producing a monoazo lake pigment comprises using 2-hydroxy-3-naphthoic acid having ≤0.3 wt.% of 2-hydroxy-6-naphthoic acid content and ≤0.05 wt.% of 2-hydroxy-8-naphthoic acid content as a coupler component.
