Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate a stable write discharge without raising a voltage required for generating the write discharge. SOLUTION: A plasma display device includes: a plasma display panel having a plurality of discharge cells each having a display electrode pair comprising a scan electrode and a sustain electrode; a driving circuit which drives respective electrodes by providing, in a one-field period, a plurality of subfields each having a write period wherein a discharge cell for making a discharge is selected and a sustain period where the discharge cell selected in the write period generates a sustain discharge; and a panel temperature decision circuit which has a temperature sensor and decides the temperature state of the plasma display panel. After applying a sustain pulse voltage for generating a final sustain discharge in a sustain period to a scan electrode, the driving circuit applies a voltage for reducing the potential difference between the electrodes of the display electrode pair to the sustain electrode at predetermined intervals, and varies the predetermined interval according to a signal from the panel temperature decision circuit.
