IMAGE HOLDER CLEANING DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of components of a cleaning device, thereby simplifying its configuration and to stabilize cleaning force. SOLUTION: A stuck substance such as paper powder, residual toner, or external additive, sticking to the outer peripheral face of an intermediate transfer belt 46 passing through between a first cleaning brush 60 and a second cleaning brush 62 is scraped and cleaned by the first cleaning brush 60. Further, the stuck substance such as the paper powder, the residual toner, or the external additive, sticking to the internal face of the intermediate transfer belt 46 is scraped and cleaned by the second cleaning brush 62. The second cleaning brush 62 also serves as a member confronting the first cleaning brush 60 and confronts pressure applied to the internal circumferential face of the intermediate transfer belt 46 from the first cleaning brush 60. Since the second cleaning brush 62 serves also as the member confronting the first cleaning brush 60, the number of components can be reduced and the configuration is made simple.
