Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-priced chuck by eliminating a cylinder device for opening/closing claw parts of the chuck capable of holding the only one linear material, and to simplify the structure thereof. SOLUTION: The chuck 50 of a linear material holding device is structured of a pair of claw parts 50c turnably supported by a base 50h, and these claw parts 50c face each other through a little clearance D0, and suspended by the weight thereof due to the work of gravity. Tapered pinching parts 50d are formed inside of the claw parts 50c opposite to each other, and the chuck 50b is pushed into a several linear materials w inside a stocker and the claw parts 50c of the chuck 50 are opened in a range allowed by the described clearance D0. One linear material w1 entered into the depth part of the tapered pinching parts 50d is pinched by the pinching parts 50d, and an interfering member 52 possible to be engaged with the pinched ultra-fine linear material is arranged on the way of a rising route of the chuck.
