DEVICE AND METHOD FOR SETTING RECEIVING CHANNEL, AND PROGRAM AND STORAGE MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiving channel setting device which can perform initial setting of an optimal channel automatically. SOLUTION: The receiving channel setting device comprises a means for storing a broadcast station code corresponding to an area code predetermined for every area, and an operating means through which a user inputs an area code. Furthermore, a determination means reads out a broadcast station code corresponding to an area code inputted from the operating means from the storage means, and determines whether the channel of the broadcast station code thus read out can be received normally or not. When determination is made that the channel of the broadcast station code thus read out can be received normally, the determination means reads out a broadcast station code corresponding to other area code and determines again whether the channel of the broadcast station code thus read out can be received normally or not.
