MOTION DETECTION CIRCUIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect motion accurately even if a color signal largely moves in an adjacent frame and the signal two frames after returns to the same position of the initial frame. SOLUTION: A color difference detection means 12 for detecting the differential signal of the color signal comprises: a horizontal BPF 1211 receiving input image data Va0; a horizontal BPF 1212 receiving delay image data Vb0; a color difference extraction means 121 for inverting the phase of output of one horizontal BPF (1215) to be subtracted from output of the other BPF; and a sensitivity conversion means 122 comprising an absolute value operation means 1221, a prefilter 1222, and a ROM 1223, thus detecting the motion of a color signal even if, for example, the color signal largely moves in an adjacent frame and the signal two frames after returns to the same position of the initial frame.
