Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester resin production method capable of producing a polyester resin which is friendly to the environment, suppressed in discoloration and transparent, and especially is capable of being preferably used for a color toner. SOLUTION: The polyester resin production method comprises polycondensing a polybasic carboxylic acid containing a dicarboxylic acid with a polyhydric alcohol containing a diol in the presence of a product having a covalent bonding between a phosphorus compound and a titanium compound and/or a product of coordination bonding between a phosphorus compound and a titanium compound, desirably a phosphate-type titanium compound and/or a phosphite-type titanium compound.
