Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new tocopherol glycoside excellent in stability/water soluble properties and having resistance to oxidation, active oxygen-eliminating action, anti-aging action of skin cells and cell-activating action and to provide a method for producing the tocopherol glycoside in a high yield. SOLUTION: The method for producing a compound represented by formula (1) (wherein R1is as defined in the specification) comprises glycoside condensation reaction of a peracetylated monosaccharide or a peracetylated oligosaccharide with a tocopherol, In the production method, a catalyst composed of two components of a main catalyst and a cocatalyst is used in the glycoside condensation reaction.
