PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bulb planting machine for garlic or the like, solving the problem that each bulb of garlic or the like is not ensured to plant by ensuring the vertical, longitudinal and transverse directions thereof by work other than manual work, leading to uneven growth thereof. SOLUTION: The bulb planting machine for garlic or the like comprises a planting machine body P equipped with a mechanism functioning to intermittently revolve multiple holder units U each comprising a planting holder 1 and a forcing element 4 around a frame 7 and having a forcing mechanism enabling the holder units U to be pressed against the ground and traveling wheels Q. This bulb planting machine works as follows: bulbs of garlic or the like are loaded and held in such a state that the planting holders 1 are stopped while turning upward, and the multiple bulbs of garlic or the like held by the multiple planting holders 1 are planted to a predetermined depth beneath the ground surface by the forcing mechanism in such a state that the planting holders 1 are directed to the ground. In this bulb planting machine, the machine body stops at a position where each of the bulbs is to be planted when mulching film perforations are detected by a relevant sensor.
