PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a processing time between power-on by a user and video/audio output, without substantially increasing useless power consumption. SOLUTION: The receiver is configured so that a view preparation mode is provided, a power supply ON information management section 109 stores a time band when the power supply is turned on by a user in everyday life to manage the time band using a database, the power supply is automatically turned on before a predetermined time of reaching the power-on time band of the user on the basis of the database to place the receiver in the view preparation mode, the power supply to each of devices is previously executed, thereby shortening a time required after the user presses a power supply button until video/audio is outputted. When the user does not turn on the power supply button for a predetermined time in the view preparation mode, the power supply and reception processing are not executed, and thus, useless power consumption can be prevented.
