PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow an apparatus storing electronic documents containing one or more pages to efficiently execute processing for a designated document and, especially, to efficiently fetch a document from the apparatus. SOLUTION: A CPU 101 receives identification information for identifying the contents of the document in units of pages from an image forming apparatus 1 for storing the document information that represents the document consisting of one or more pages, and displays the received identification information. When the displayed identification information is designated in units of pages or documents, the CPU 101 requests the image forming apparatus to transmit the document information corresponding to the designated identification information.
